European Technology Acquisition Program

The European Technology Acquisition Program (" European Technology Acquisition Program ", ETAP) is a study started in 2001 on future weapon systems . The six countries Germany , France , Great Britain , Italy , Sweden and Spain participate .

The aim of the study is to determine what air combat systems will look like in 2020 and which technologies will be used. Topics such as long-range missiles, communication and control systems, data processing and espionage are relevant.

In the core region of this project, however, is the development of an unmanned combat aircraft , a so-called UCAV ( U nmanned C ombat A erial V ehicles).
