The Himal Chuli is a mountain in the Himalayas .

It is the southeasternmost peak in the Mansiri Himal (also Manaslu group). It lies east of the Marsyangdi valley and is visible from Kathmandu . It is the 18th highest mountain on earth .

It was first climbed on May 24 and 25, 1960 by H. Tanabe, M. Harada, H. Miyashita and K. Nakazawa via the east side. A British expedition tried to reach the summit as early as 1955 . At that time they came up to an altitude of 7000  m . The successful Japanese expedition had to buy their way to the mountain through large donations.
