Euryleonis
Euryleonis from Sparta was an Olympic champion in the Olympics .
Our only source on her is Pausanias , who reports that a statue was erected in Sparta in her honor. After Pausanias she won the race with the Biga ( Synoris ). Mostly it is assumed that this happened at the 103rd Olympic Games in 368 BC. BC, but this date is not certain.
Euryleonis was only the second female winner in Olympia, in 396 BC. BC and 392 BC The Spartan princess Kyniska succeeded in winning the Tethrippon .
