The Euston Lakes

The Euston Lakes ( English Euston Lakes ) are a group of three endorheic lakes in New South Wales near the border with Victoria in Australia . The lakes are about ten kilometers northeast of the town of Robinvale and are each about three kilometers long. They are fed by the Murray River via Taila Creek .

The lakes are from west to east:

  • Dry Lake
  • Lake Benanee
  • Lake Caringay (also Lake Noeyango )

Due to lack of water, the lakes were cut off from the water supply at the end of 2007, but two years later they were reconnected to the Murray River, initially (August 2012) only two of the three lakes were filled with water. Lake Caringay , which has been cut off from the system since the early 1960s, remained dry.
