Euthymenes ( ancient Greek Εὐθυμένης ) from Massilia was a Greek navigator and explorer of the 6th century BC. BC and author of a periplus that has only survived in fragments . Euthymenes sailed along the west coast of Africa to the mouth of a large river, possibly Senegal , and a "sweet sea".
