Evan McGaughey (born July 21, 1994 ) is an American basketball player. The winger is under contract with USC Heidelberg .
career
McGaughey played basketball and golf during his school years at Illinois West High School in Carthage , Illinois . Between 2013 and 2017, he played 117 games for the Quincy University basketball team in the second division of the NCAA . During the 2016/17 game year - McGaughey's last as a college basketball player - he scored 16.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.2 ball wins per game. He hit 48 of his 92 three-point throws, so he had an outstanding hit rate of 52.2 percent. With 1574 points, which McGaughey scored for Quincy in four years, he was fourth on the team's all-time basketball list when he graduated from university in the spring of 2017.
At the end of June 2017, McGaughey signed his first contract as a professional basketball player with the German second division club USC Heidelberg . With an average of 11.8 points, he was the second best basket hunter at Heidelberg in his first year as a professional, and his value of 6.6 rebounds per game was the highest among the team. He then decided against a second year in Heidelberg and switched to the Czech first division club BK Pardubice during the summer break of 2018 . There he scored an average of 7.8 points per game in the Czech league during the 2018/19 season.
At the end of August 2019, the Italian second division team Benacquista Latina McGaughey's commitment. In 2020 he returned to Heidelberg.
