Cividale Gospels
Daa Evangeliar von Cividale (or Codex Aquileiensis ) is a manuscript from the 6th or 7th century in Latin . It contains the text of the Gospel of Mark and is written in uncials .
The manuscript also contains the names of around 1500 pilgrims from the monastery of San Giovanni di Duino in Cividale del Friuli from the late 9th and early 10th centuries. These are of Germanic or Slavic origin, some are illegible, some also give family names and area of origin. The approximately 350 Slavic personal names are of outstanding importance for Slavic onomastics , as they represent one of the earliest and most detailed mentions.
Part of the manuscript is now in Cividale de Friuli, another part in Prague .
