Joseph Kanz

Joseph Kanz (born August 17, 1949 in Geiselhöring ) is a German conductor , composer and music arranger.

Joseph Kanz comes from an Austrian military musician family through the maternal line . He completed a music degree at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich . He then worked in various places as an instrumental musician and choir singer. In 1977 he first worked as a prompter at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich. From 1978 to 1984 he was a member of the Bavarian Radio Choir and from 1984 to 1994 he directed the Hessian Police Orchestra in Wiesbaden as Kapellmeister.

Kanz also worked as an arranger and composer as well as a music researcher, primarily for Anton Bruckner . As one of the editors, he is involved in the edition of the new Anton Bruckner Urtext Complete Edition .
