The Evangelical Church is the Evangelical parish church in the town of Burscheid ( Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis ) in North Rhine-Westphalia .

history

The previous building of today's Evangelical Church bore the patronage of St. Laurentius and was incorporated into the Gereonsstift in Cologne from 1287 . The Reformation was introduced to the church in 1570 when the city became Protestant.

From 1767 to 1769 the nave of the church was rebuilt as a baroque hall building in the style of a sermon church. The church tower, which dates back to the 11th century , was laid down in 1845 and replaced by a new neo-Romanesque building in 1871/72 .
