Evoke
The Evoke is with about 400 visitors one of the biggest demo parties in Germany . It has been taking place regularly in and around Cologne since 1997 , making it Germany's oldest demo party that still exists. It is now supported by the Digitale Kultur e. V. aligned.
Evoke attracts many international visitors. In 2004, Evoke was first supported by the City of Cologne's Department of Culture. This support continued in 2006 and 2009.
As one of the first parties, Evoke began to set a specific motto every year under which the event took place. The location, the process and the program are based on this theme (2003: " Zoo3 ", 2004: "digital playground", 2005: "demoscene space odyssey", 2006: " Bahnhof ", 2007: "10 years", 2008: "The party continues").
In 2004, Evoke was expanded to include an “external” interface through the Evoke Netlabel Night , at which various netlabels presented themselves live to the audience. The additional event taking place at the same time was explicitly aimed at people who do not belong to the demo scene. This form of the event was resumed in 2007 and 2008 by Evoke Tracks .
Since 2004, participants in music competitions have had to assure that they are not members of a collecting society such as GEMA or BIEM .
