The women's choir ex-semble was launched in 1994 by its director Christoph Haßler as an “experiment in a small ensemble”. Most of its members come from the Münchweiler children's choir in the south-west of the Palatinate on the Rodalb . Demanding, predominantly a cappella literature of all styles is compiled.

The choir gave concerts in cooperation with Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) and Südwestrundfunk (SWR). There were concert tours to Hungary, Italy and the USA.

In 2003, two special concerts took place during the German Choir Festival in Berlin at the invitation of the German Singers' Association, including in the Berlin Philharmonic .

Awards

In 2000 the choir won the gold medal at the Riva del Garda international choir competition. At the national choir competition in Lindenholzhausen in 2004, the choir received the gold medal and was category winner, it also received special prizes for the best interpretation of a contemporary choir piece and for the best interpretation of a folk song arrangement; In addition, the choir director Christoph Haßler was awarded the conductor's prize. In Lindenholzhausen the choir received the gold diploma in 2005 and won the women's chamber choir category. In the same year he won a gold diploma and was the winner in the category special class at the choir festival 100 years MGV Frohsinn 1905 eV in Jockgrim ; Christoph Haßler was awarded the Conducting Prize. At the 7th state choir competition in 2005 in Mutterstadt, the choir was category winner in the women's chamber choir category. In 2006 ex-semble was awarded 1st prize at the German Choir Competition 2006 in Kiel in the women's chamber choir category with the title “Participated with outstanding success”. In 2007 the choir received the 2nd prize in the women's choir category with the title “internationally outstanding” at the 10th International Chamber Choir Competition in Marktoberdorf . At the international chamber choir competition Maasmechelen / Flanders received the ex-semble in 2011. In 2013, ex-semple was named the sponsor choir of the SWR Vocal Ensemble Stuttgart. In 2016 ex-semble received a 3rd prize and the title "Participated with outstanding success" at the "Contemporary Music" competition at the German Choir Festival in Stuttgart
