Experimental housing

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Experimental housing designated political programs to promote model projects of housing construction . These programs exist in Germany at the federal and state level. "Experimental" also means that they do not always have to comply with standards (for example, the recognized rules of technology for building techniques ), as they are researching new forms or technologies of living.

The aim of the funded model projects and pilot projects is, against the background of demographic change , socio-economic changes, increasing energy scarcity and climate protection, together with the housing industry, to anticipate the challenges of the future and to implement them in pioneering, innovative housing concepts. This is partly connected with the intention to increase profitability and efficiency, for example in social housing .

The following fields of action represent aspects of the funding (with different focus depending on the federal state):

  • Application of new technologies
  • Trying out new forms of communal living
  • Implementation of ecological and sustainable concepts, especially in the area of energy-saving construction in recent years
  • Implementation of barrier-free living and offers for different residents' needs in different phases of life and in the coexistence of generations
  • Activation of self-help groups through housing projects and alternative carrier models
  • the elimination of urban and structural grievances
  • the reactivation of fallow land .
