The National Lift Tower , formerly an express lift tower , is a tower built in Northampton between 1980 and 1982 for testing lifts . With a height of 127.45 meters, it is the second tallest elevator test tower in Europe and has a diameter of 14.6 meters.

The tower was shut down in 1997 after Otis took over the express lift company . In 2010 the tower was put back into operation under a new name after renovation.
