Day school

A Externat is an educational institution whose students live outside the facility and therefore External are. It is the counterpart to a boarding school .

Colleges and schools

The term often appears in educational institutions whose students are partly in a boarding school and partly in an external school. One example is the St. Blasien college , where external students are offered homework and free time supervision from the end of school until the late afternoon.

Vocational training

The practical part of midwifery training is also referred to as day school. This training phase usually follows the theoretical and clinical training and takes place with freelance midwives or in birthing centers .
