Extremely normal , occasionally also extremely normal , is a music band project by the singer-songwriter Daniel Rohrer , who also appears as a solo artist under the name Dänu Ex-Trem. The band initially played Swiss dialect rock. Later Daniel Rohrer converted the project into a jazz band in Denmark . The last album was released in 1989, and since then there have been isolated concerts.

Band history

The Trio Extrem Normal was founded in 1982 as a trio. First, the demo Ex-tremely Normal appeared in early 1983 . The project was then continued as a duo. In the same year, the Zytglogge Verlag released the debut album Welcome in Schwitzerländ , which is also the most famous song of the project.

After a few appearances in the opening act of Nina Hagen , the EP Po..po..po was played as a limited edition in the USA.

At Schnoutz Records (Eric Merz) Extrem Normal published the z. Some of the LP changes sung in English and played festivals in Germany, France, Italy and Denmark.

Daniel Rohrer moved to Århus in Denmark in 1987 , where he re-established Extrem Normal as a jazz band. With Per Leth Nissen he produced the EP Bern - Århus for FunKey in 1988 and went on a tour through the Soviet Union ; Danu plays his 1000th concert in Leningrad . In 1990 Radio Suisse Romande invited the Danish group to a radio concert in Geneva, the recording was published as Extrem Normal - live in Genève, also on FunKey.

Since 1990 the band has only played live sporadically. Daniel Rohrer continues to publish music as "Dänu Extrem" and runs the Dexmusic recording studio in Basel .
