The three-storey , simple plastered building with a mansard roof is essentially medieval . It was rebuilt around 1820 and changed again around 1860.

The house is located in the core area of the city area recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site of the “ historic old towns of Stralsund and Wismar ”. It is entered in the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund with the number 178.

Since 1992 there has been a pub in the basement of the house (“Ben Gunn”).
