Héctor Ramírez
Héctor Ramírez (* 20th century) is a former Cuban boxer .
Ramírez was Cuban champion in 1978 and 1979 in light flyweight (-48 kg).
In 1975 he won the Central American and Caribbean Championships in Guatemala City . The following year he won the same championships in Kingston in flyweight (-51 kg). In 1978 Ramírez took part in the World Championships in Belgrade . In the quarter-finals he beat the eventual WBC world champion Rafael Oronó , Venezuela (4-1), and in the semifinals the Japanese Ishi Koki (5-0). In the final, Ramírez met Polish European champion Henryk Średnicki , to whom he was defeated by 4-1 judges' votes. At the Pan American Games in 1979 Ramirez started again in the light flyweight division and won the gold medal with a final victory over the third place in the World Cup, Richard Sandoval , USA (5-0).
Despite these international successes, Ramírez was no longer able to assert himself at the national level and was consequently no longer used internationally.
