Precipitation form

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In quantitative analysis , especially gravimetry , the precipitation form refers to the chemical compound that precipitates in a precipitation reaction but contains undefined precipitates of unknown stoichiometry (e.g. crystal water ), which cannot be used for the quantitative determination of a substance. The transfer to the weighing form , which has a defined composition, can take place, for example, by drying or calcining.
