Coloring coefficient

The color index (FI) indicates the hemoglobin content ( Hb) in red blood cells . It is calculated as follows:

Today, mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH) is commonly used.

interpretation

• Standard value: 1.0
• > 1: hyperchromic anemia
• <1: hypochromic anemia
