The FAA Specialist Agency , shortly specialist agency or FAA, is a personnel services company based in Bielefeld . The business area includes the placement of physicians in temporary workers as well as temporary appointment at clinics, hospitals, medical centers, nursing homes and clinics in Germany.

history

The agency was founded by the doctor Jochen Jouaux in 2000 based on his personal experience as an anesthetist in England. The start of the operative business of the specialist doctor's office was based on the system of " locum tenens " doctors, known in France as "médecins remplaçants", which is customary in the USA and England . In Germany, the term " fee doctor" or "loan doctor" has been used for this. The concept common in Great Britain was modified by the specialist doctor's office, adapted to the requirements of the German health care system and first used in Germany in 2001. In 2002, the specialist doctor's office and the fee-based doctor concept were first described in a German-language article, followed by reports and interviews in specialist journals.

In 2004, the concept of the specialist doctor's office first reached a broad public through an article in the weekly newspaper “Die Zeit”. This was followed by further publications in specialist journals, a contribution to the standard work on fee-based medical practice as well as radio and television reports on the activities of the agency and fee-based medical services.

After the Facharztagentur GmbH primarily acted as an intermediary for freelance fee-based doctor assignments, from 2007 the temporary work of the FAA was introduced as a second main area of business. The personnel service company medrecare GmbH was founded in 2011 on the basis of the same concept for the increasingly obvious shortage of personnel in the care sector.

In the meantime, the mediation and organization of fee-based activities has been completely terminated due to a ruling by the Federal Social Court. Placements are now only made within the framework of temporary employment or temporary employment.
