The FC Brüttisellen is a Swiss football club from Brüttisellen .

The men's team currently plays in the 2nd division . At its sporting peak, the club played in the 1989/1990 , 1991/1992 and 1992/1993 seasons in the National League B , the second highest division in Switzerland.

history

The association was founded in 1948 by employees of the Walder & CO. Shoe factory . founded in Brüttisellen as a company team . The following year, the club joined the Swiss Football and Athletics Association (SFAV). Associated with this was the renaming to FC Brüttisellen. In 1952 the club formed its own junior department , which was followed in 1961 by the establishment of the senior department .

On a sporting level, the team rose to the 3rd division in 1954, where FC Brüttisellen stayed for 14 years. In 1968 the club rose to the 2nd division , but returned to the 3rd division after one season. A second promotion to the 2nd division took place in 1973, with the team in this case also being relegated to the 3rd division after one season.

With the third promotion to the 2nd division in 1977, the gradual upward path of FC Brüttisellens began. After the club was group champion of the 2nd division in 1979, but with no chance of promotion, in 1981 as regional champion of the 2nd division, promotion to the 1st division followed .

In 1989, with the exception of a professional player , FC Brüttisellen, consisting exclusively of amateur players , was promoted to second in the National League B, but rose again in 1990 after the end of the season. In 1991, FC Brüttisellen was able to celebrate its rise again. This was due, among other things, to the arrival of several professional players and a large financial outlay, which, together with the unsuitable infrastructure for a professional team, later made itself felt.

The 1991/1992 and 1992/1993 seasons in the National League B were the last highlight in the club's history. This was followed by relegation to the first division and in 1994 relegation to the second division. In 2000, he was relegated to the 3rd division, where the club has been playing since then, with a one-year detour to the 2nd regional division in 2005.
