The FC Lindenberg is a football club based in the town of Lindenberg im Allgäu in the Bavarian district of Lindau .
history
Foundation and time in the highest amateur leagues
The club was founded in October 1907 and played its first public game in 1909. It was only after the First World War that point games began. In 1921 he was promoted to the A-Class and in the 1937/38 season the Bodensee Championship was achieved. After the Second World War, the team then took part in the new Landesliga Südwürrtemberg for the 1946/47 season, where the team was incorporated into the South group . In the second season , the FC was able to finish the league in sixth place, in the 1948/49 season , relegation with ninth place and 18:22 points was barely prevented. In the last season of the league was again sixth place on the table. After this season, the club is together with nearly all the other clubs in the division in the II. Amateur league Wuerttemberg passed .
Time in the district league
In 1959 the club was relegated from this league, but was able to celebrate promotion again in 1961, which was followed by relegation in 1962. In the further 60s and 70s, the team was able to establish itself in the A-class, but in 1975 it was relegated to the B-class. After the 1981/82 season, the team finally rose again to the district league. In the 1987/88 season they were promoted to the national league again, but after the 1989/90 season they were relegated again. In 1991 the title of district cup winner could be achieved. Already in the 1992/93 season it almost worked with the promotion, but there was no goal for the better difference, after the next season the promotion finally succeeded. In 2000 the relegation from the regional league followed, and in 2003 it went down to the district league A.
Elevator crew status
In the district league A Season III , the first place could then be occupied after the 2004/05 season. Which made her return to the Bodensee district league . In the first season here you could save yourself from direct relegation by just one point. However, the team could not completely prevent relegation and so it went back to the district league A again for the 2006/07 season , where the promotion was achieved again with the championship title. From here it went straight back down to 14th place with 29 points at the end of the season. However, this time the direct promotion could not be made in the 2008/09 season, because the team ended up only in third place. After a very long time in the district league A, the promotion to the district league only succeeded in the 2017/18 season with the championship title. This first district league season after a long time, the team was only able to finish in 13th place, which means that FC had to play in a relegation game against TSG Bad Wurzach from the district league A. The club lost this game with 1: 2 nV and was relegated to the district league A. In which the club is currently still based.
