The FC Rot-Schwarz Thun is a football club in Thun . Figurehead of the club is the first women's football -Mannschaft that in the National League B play.

history

The association was founded in 1947 as PTT 1947 and received its current name in 1968. The men's teams never managed to get beyond the lower divisions, currently they play in the 5th division.

Women’s football has been played at FC Rot-Schwarz Thun since 1978. Two years later they made it into the National League B . In 1986 they won the championship and rose to the National League A. With this rise began a year-long ups and downs, which is why the club can also be called the elevator team. In a four-year rhythm, the club constantly changed the leagues. In the meantime, the best placement could be achieved in 1997 with third place in the National League A. The team celebrated their greatest success on May 20, 2009 at the Stade de Suisse in Bern, when they won the Swiss Cup with a record result of 8-0 (6-0) over FC Schlieren.
