The FC Wipfeld is a sports club from the Lower Franconian town Wipfeld (district of Schweinfurt). In addition to the successful football department, the club also offers basketball and athletics.
history
The club experienced its most successful sporting period from the late 1960s. After promotion to the Lower Franconian district league, he made it to the Landesliga Nord in 1972 as a champion . The club stayed there for three seasons. After relegation he was instantly champion of the district league again, but renounced the renewed promotion.
The greatest sporting success so far came in 1979 with qualification for the first main round for the DFB Cup . There they lost 7-0 to the then Bayern league club FC Augsburg .
