FEMISE

FEMISE ( French Forum Euroméditerranéen des Institut de Sciences Économiques ) is a non-profit network of Euro-Mediterranean economic research institutes . The association was established in 2005 and is headquartered in Marseille . FEMISE is funded by the European Commission and coordinated by the French Institut de la Méditerranée and the Egyptian Economic Research Forum .

It currently has 94 members representing the partner countries of the Barcelona Process . From Germany, the GIGA German Institute of Global and Area Studies , the German Institute for Economic Research , the Institute for Growth and Economy at the University of Hamburg and the Institute for Development Research and Development Policy at the Ruhr University Bochum are represented. The President of FEMISE is the Egyptian economist and politician Ahmed Galal ; scientifically it is directed by the French Jean-Louis Reiffers . There is also a general assembly and a board of directors . The network is involved in research projects, conferences and regular publications.
