The World Curling Championships the women's 1,985 (officially: H & M World Curling Women's Championship in 1985 ) was the seventh staging of the World Championships in curling of the ladies. The tournament took place from March 17th to 23rd of that year in the Swedish city of Jönköping in the Rosenlundshallen .
Defending champion Canada defeated the Scottish women in the final and brought the North American women their third world title. The game for third place or the bronze medal, taking place for the first time at the Women's World Cup, was won by Switzerland.
A round robin tournament was played , which means that everyone competes against everyone else.
