The World Curling Championships the women's 1,998 (official: Ford World Women's Curling Championship in 1998 ) was the 20th staging of the World Championships in curling of the ladies. The tournament was held from April 4th to 12th of that year in the Canadian city of Kamloops , British Columbia in the Riverside Coliseum .
Host Canada faced an overwhelming power of the Northern European teams. Sweden, Denmark and Norway gathered in the semi-finals. The Swedes (7: 3) won the title among themselves. Canada saved the bronze medal in the game for 3rd place.
Was played a round-robin tournament ( round-robin ), which means that everyone competes against everyone.
