The World Curling Championships the women's 2,000 (official: Ford World Women's Curling Championship 2000 ) was the 22nd staging of the World Championships in curling of the ladies. The tournament went from 1 to 9 April of the year in the curling country of origin Scotland after Glasgow back. The games of the World Cup took place in the Braehead Arena in Renfrewshire , around 20 south of Glasgow.
After a 3rd and 5th place in the last two world championships, record world champions Canada managed to win their eleventh title against the Swiss. The hosts from Scotland lost in the game for the bronze medal against the Norwegians.
