Amy Wright

Amy Wright (born April 15, 1950 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American actress .

Life and accomplishments

Wright studied at Beloit College and worked intermittently as a teacher. She quit and moved to New York City to build a career as an actress. There she made her debut at the Sanctuary Theater in 1975 and worked with Rip Torn.

Her first film role played Wright in the drama Not a Pretty Picture from 1976. In the western drama Heartland (1979) she played one of the bigger roles on the side of Rip Torn and Conchata Ferrell . In the comedy Stardust Memories (1980) she was seen at the side of Woody Allen , in the same year she appeared next to John Savage , David Morse and Diana Scarwid in a larger role in the drama Max's Bar by Richard Donner .

In the drama The Journeys of Mr. Leary (1988) Wright starred on the side of William Hurt , Kathleen Turner and Geena Davis . In the film comedy Die Erbschleicher (1990) she played the role of Lurlene , who fights for inheritance with her siblings Orville ( Beau Bridges ), Evalita ( Beverly D'Angelo ) and Sara Lee ( Tess Harper ).

Wright was married to her fellow actor Rip Torn from 1989 until his death in 2019 , and the couple have two daughters.
