The Amityville Horror is an American horror film released in 1979 and the first in the Amityville horror series. The script is based on Jay Anson 's bestselling novel of the same name . A remake was produced in 2005.
The story is supposed to be based on real events, but their truthfulness is not sufficiently proven.
action
Ronald DeFeo Jr., a young man from the small town of Amityville on Long Island near New York , treacherously shot his entire family in their sleep one night and claimed during interrogation by the police that he had caused the slaughter because of "ghost voices" have ordered acted.
A year later, the Lutz family bought the house and experienced eerie ghosts, which after four weeks became so massive that they left the house in a hurry.
criticism
The lexicon of international film ruled that the film was “stylish and excitingly staged occult trivial cinema” and “adorned itself with confused metaphysical speculations”.
