Amityville - A New Generation , also Amityville 7 , Amityville - The horror never ends or Amityville 1993: The Image of Evil (Original title Amityville: A New Generation ), is a horror film from 1993 by John Murlowski . This is the sixth sequel to Amityville Horror from 1979. Just like its predecessor Amityville - Face of Terror (1992), the film was produced for the video market .

The film was released on September 29, 1993 in the United States as a direct-to-video in an R-rated and an unrated version by Republic Pictures . In July 2005, the film was finally released on DVD in the US by Lionsgate Home Entertainment and FremantleMedia North America . In Germany, Marketing Film released the film on VHS. A German-language publication on DVD has not yet taken place.

• The working title of the film was Amityville 1993: The Image of Evil .
• The character Bronner is supposed to represent Defeo (the murderer from Amityville Horror ), who initially murders his entire family. As with Amityville II - The Obsessed , where the Defeo family was renamed Montelli.
• The film was wrongly presented as Amityville 4 on German television , although this is already the 7th part of the series.
