life and career

Sources contradict each other as to when Naughton made his first professional appearance as an actor. What is certain is that he appeared in The Other Side of Victory in 1976 , having previously appeared as a singer and dancer in various television commercials. In 1979 he released the song Makin 'It , which made him number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 .

In 1981 Naughton received the title role of college student David Kessler in American Werewolf . This film, which stands out above all for its special effects and its multiple award-winning make-up, was a worldwide success and is now considered a milestone in modern horror films in specialist circles , but Naughton's international breakthrough was denied. He appeared and appears as a leading and supporting actor in other horror films (2006 again in a werewolf film: Big Bad Wolf ) and otherwise appeared in films and television series (such as MacGyver ) of all conceivable genres.

On 14 and 15 April 2012, he was with the director John Landis and the special effects artist Mike Hill Member of Monsterpalooza - panels to American Werewolf in London.

Naughton's brother James is a recognized theater and film actor.
