John Larch

John Larch (born October 4, 1914 in Salem , Massachusetts , † October 16, 2005 in Woodland Hills , California ) was an American actor .

Larch was initially a professional baseball player . When his career, which however never took him to the major league, came to an end, he began an acting career in radio, where he played the leading role in 1953/1954 in Captain Starr of Space . His film career began in 1954 with a supporting role in the western The Avengers of Montana (Bitter Creek). At first he played authorities (mostly as a police officer, military person, public prosecutor or politician), especially in westerns and war films, later also in crime novels , thrillers , horror and television films and series. Between 1982 and 1988 he sporadically played the role of Gerald Wilson in the television series The Denver Clan . By the end of his career in 1990 in the series Dallas , he appeared in around 50 film and television roles and in well over 150 guest roles in television series .
