The World Curling Championships the women's 1,987World Women's Curling Championship in 1987 ) was the ninth staging of the World Championships in curling of the ladies. The tournament was held from March 22nd to 28th of that year in Chicago , USA . The game was played in the city of Lake Forest , part of the Chicago metropolitan area, at Lake Forest College .
The Canadians remained the dominant nation for the fourth year in a row and won the fifth title for the maple leaves . As in the previous year, the Federal Republic of Germany only got the silver medal. The bronze medal went to Switzerland and Norway took the thankless fourth place.
A round robin tournament was played , which means that everyone competes against everyone else.
