The World Curling Championships the women's 1,990 (official: World Women's Curling Championship in 1990 ) was the 12th staging of the World Championships in curling of the ladies. The tournament was held from April 1st to 7th of that year in the Swedish city of Västerås in the Rocklundahallen .
The Norwegians celebrated their first World Cup title against Scotland. Since there was no match for third place, Canada and Denmark jointly received the bronze medal. For the first time a Japanese team took part.
Was played a round-robin tournament ( round-robin ), which means that everyone competes against everyone.
