The World Curling Championships the women's 1,989 (official: World Women's Curling Championship in 1989 ) was the 11th staging of the World Championships in curling of the ladies. The tournament was held from April 3rd to 9th of that year in the US city of Milwaukee , Wisconsin in the Milwaukee Auditorium .
For Canada it was the sixth win of the world title. The silver medal went to the Norwegians. Since there was no match for third place, the Federal Republic of Germany and Sweden jointly received the bronze medal.
