Shinobu Aota ( Japanese 青田 し の ぶ , Aota Shinobu ; born October 26, 1977 in Obihiro , Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese curler . She played in the third position under Skip Anna Ōmiya for the Aomori team at Aomori CC in Aomori Prefecture and for Mayo Yamaura's team.

Aota was a substitute for the Japanese junior team, which won the silver medal at the Junior World Championships in 1999 under Skip Akiko Sekiwa .

As skip, she led her team to the title at the Pacific Championships in 2002 and 2003 . In 2010 she played at the Pacific Championships as third in the team of Mayo Yamaura and won the bronze medal.
