Bemidji [ bəˈmɪdʒiː ] is a city (with a status of " City ") and the administrative seat of Beltrami County in the north of the US state of Minnesota . In 2010 , Bemidji had 13,431 residents.
Surname
Bemidji is named after the Ojibwe expression bemijigamaag , "lake of the crossing waters".

Bemidji is located about 300 kilometers northwest of the Twin Cities on the southwest coast of Lake Bemidji, through which the upper Mississippi flows, at 47 ° 28'25 "north latitude and 94 ° 52'49" west longitude. About seven kilometers northwest of the city center is the Bemidji Regional Airport , one of the largest regional airports in Minnesota.

The Bemidji Curling Club with Pete Fenson and Cassandra Potter has already won several medals at world championships and the Olympic Games for the USA.
