Lou Wangberg

Louis "Lou" Wangberg (born March 27, 1941 in Bemidji , Minnesota ) is an American politician . Between 1979 and 1983 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Minnesota.

Career

Lou Wangberg enjoyed a college education and then began a long career in school service. He became a school councilor in the Bemidji city area. He also held a few offices in the private sector. He has also served on the board of directors of Jostens Corporation, as well as a business advisor and director of the Flagler Career Institute . Politically, he joined the Republican Party , which in Minnesota was called the Independent Republican Party between 1975 and 1995 .

In 1978, Wangberg was elected Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota alongside Al Quie . He held this office between 1979 and 1983. He was Deputy Governor . At times he was also its chief of staff. To date, Lou Wangberg is the last male lieutenant governor of Minnesota. In 1982 he ran unsuccessfully for the office of governor. After serving as Lieutenant Governor, he worked for a Fortune 500 company for five years . He later moved to Plantation in Florida . There he is again active in the school service. He taught American history and economic policy at Pembroke Pines Charter High School .
