Samuel Y. Gordon

Samuel Y. Gordon (born September 14, 1861 in Lexington , Scott County , Indiana , †  December 10, 1940 in Saint Paul , Minnesota ) was an American politician . Between 1911 and 1913 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Minnesota.

Career

Nothing is known about Samuel Gordon's youth and schooling. He had lived in Minnesota since 1862. He later worked in the newspaper business. Politically, he joined the Republican Party . He was a postman in Browns Valley for 13 years . There he was also a member of the local council and the school committee. He was a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives in 1915 and 1916 , where he served on several committees.

In 1910, Gordon was elected Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota alongside Adolph Olson Eberhart . He held this office between 1911 and 1913. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . In 1916 he was a substitute delegate to the Republican National Convention . After that, he no longer appeared politically. He died on December 10, 1940 in Saint Paul.
