William Holcombe

William Holcombe (born July 22, 1804 in Lambertville , Hunterdon County , New Jersey , † September 5, 1870 in Stillwater , Minnesota ) was an American politician ( Democratic Party ) and from 1858 to 1860 the first lieutenant governor of the state of Minnesota. He had previously participated in the new state's constitutional convention in 1857.

In 1870 he became mayor of Stillwater, where he died that same year. He was then buried there in Fairview Cemetery . Holcombe was married twice. His first marriage was in 1826 with Martha Wilson, his second marriage in 1847 with Henrietta King Clendenin.
