Mae Schunk

Mae A. Schunk (born May 21, 1934 in Greenwood , Wisconsin ) is an American politician . She was lieutenant governor of the state of Minnesota from 1999 to 2003 .

Career

Mae Schunk was born as Mae Gasparac. After finishing school and studying at the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire , she began to work in the school service herself. She worked as a teacher for 37 years. In the 1990s she became a member of the new Reform Party founded by Ross Perot . In 1998 she was elected lieutenant governor of Minnesota alongside Jesse Ventura . She held this office between 1999 and 2003. She was Deputy Governor . She was the first person in the Reform Party nationwide to be elected to the post of lieutenant governor. Mae Schunk is married and has one son.
