Red Lake is a census-designated place within the Lower Red Lake unorganized territory in Beltrami County in the north of the US state of Minnesota . It is located on the south bank of Lower Red Lake in an Indian reservation and has around 1400 inhabitants, almost all of whom are of Indian descent.
Red Lake attracted global attention on March 21, 2005 when the gunman Jeffrey Weise killed nine people at a high school and then shot himself.
