The FFC United Schwerzenbach was a football club from Switzerland . Figurehead of the club was the first women's football -Mannschaft that in the National League A played.

history

FC Schwerzenbach was founded on June 7th, 1974 as the Sport Club (SC) Schwerzenbach. Before that, most of the Schwerzenbachers played at FC Fällanden. The SC's application for membership was rejected by the Swiss Football Association because the club did not have its own sports field. A year later, work began on the "Zielacher" sports field, which was inaugurated in the summer of 1977. A short time later, a women's team was sent into the race for the first time. The first major success was achieved in 1988 when the first women's team was able to celebrate promotion to the National League A.

In 1992 the FCS won their first title. FFC Bern was beaten 1-0 in the cup final . A year later, the new "Zimmikerriet" stadium was inaugurated. The club's greatest success was the 1999 championship. The possible double could not be achieved, as they were defeated by FC Bern on penalties in the cup final. In 2003 you could win the cup again. Again the opponent was called FFC Bern and this time they won the penalty shoot-out.

In October 2006, the club decided to spin off the first team and the U-18 juniors from the club and transfer them to the newly founded FFC United Schwerzenbach. The team has been competing under the new name since the 2007/08 season. In 2008 the FFC Bern was defeated again in the Cup final and the Cup was won for the third time. As of July 1, 2008, a cooperation was entered into with the Grasshopper Club Zurich to enable semi-professionalism. The 08/09 season was then also started under the name GC / Schwerzenbach. On July 1, 2009, the team was completely taken over by the Grasshopper Club Zurich and has been participating under this name ever since.
