Financial Instruments Reference Database System

The Financial Instruments Reference Database System (FIRDS) is a database of financial instruments published by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). It provides additional information on all instruments that must be reported in accordance with Directive 2014/65 / EU on markets in financial instruments (Financial Markets Directive, MiFID II). The FIRDS reference data is necessary metadata in order to understand the financial instrument and contains, among other things, the International Securities Identification Number (ISIN) to identify each financial instrument traded.

Technical details

The technical specification describes the data in detail. New entries are published as XML files every day at 09:00 CET. An entry contains the ISIN, the market identification code (MIC) and z. B. the classification of financial instruments (CFI code) and other information of the financial instrument.
