Market identification code
The market identification code ( MIC , English Market Identifier Code ) is a by ISO 10383 standardized identifier for exchanges and other trading venues . The MIC is a four-digit alphanumeric code; in May 2017 there were 1242 valid values. The list is republished monthly.

The international securities identification number (ISIN) alone represents a unique identification of a security, but does not determine on which trading venue it is traded. B. When querying information from Bloomberg, additional information about a stock exchange is usually required.
The London Stock Exchange uses the MIC as part of its SEDOL numbers in order to enable unambiguous identification of traded securities.
