International conference for animation, effects, games and digital media

The FMX - Conference on Animation, Effects, Games and Immersive Media is an event in Stuttgart , the English language as a non-profit event from annual Animation Institute of the Film Academy Baden-Wuerttemberg is organized. The conference is organized by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts of Baden-Württemberg , the Ministry of Economy, Labor and Housing Baden-Wuerttemberg , the city of Stuttgart and the MFG Film Funding  supported.

The FMX is considered to be one of the most important European specialist conferences for the creation, production and distribution of digital entertainment as well as interactive visualization techniques in design, industry and science. The leitmotif of the conference is the convergence of film, television, computers, game consoles and mobile devices. Artists, scientists, producers and other specialists from all parts of the world report on new projects, developments and opportunities.

The FMX presents a diverse program with top-class lectures, presentations and workshops and offers networking opportunities on the Marketplace, in the Recruiting Hub and on the School Campus. The conference takes place in the Haus der Wirtschaft in Stuttgart; in 2017 it was attended by around 4,000 international experts, visitors and young talents on each of its four days.

A long-term partnership connects the FMX with the International Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart (ITFS). The two events jointly organize the Animation Production Day (APD), a business platform for the international animation industry.
