The Foreign Language Teachers' College in Tychy ( Nauczycielskie Kolegium Języków Obcych w Tychach ) is a state college, founded in 1990, trains English and German teachers . It works under the scientific supervision of the Silesian University in Katowice .

Training at the college lasts three years and ends with a diploma examination. After that, the graduates can take the licentiate examination (comparable to a Bachelor’s degree) at the university. The degree gives them the opportunity to continue their postgraduate studies (master’s degree) at a university.

history

In 1990 the college was the first institution in Tychy to give high school leavers the opportunity to study, and it plays a major and essential role in the higher education of foreign language teachers in Silesia.

Its first director (from 1990 to 2005) was Zbigniew Naumienko. In 2005 Ewa Fic took over this position.

The college is currently located at 8 Wojska Polskiego Street and provides its students with a modern language laboratory, a multimedia lecture hall, a computer room, a library with a media library and a gym.

Since 2003, the Tyski Konkurs Języka Angielskiego i Języka Niemieckiego (language competitions in English and German ) has been organizing secondary school students from the Silesian Voivodeship and the Oświęcim District. The college students organize events in German and English for residents of the region.
