FX Concepts, LLC was the largest and also one of the oldest foreign currency - hedge funds . He managed approximately $ 9 billion in fixed assets (as of early 2010), mainly from pension and sovereign wealth funds. It was founded in 1981 by John R. Taylor Jr., who is also Chairman and CEO of the company. FX Concepts was based in New York City .

At its peak in 2007, the fund managed around 14 billion US dollars, but filed for bankruptcy at the end of 2013 due to heavy market losses and share redemptions. In 2009 , assets under management of $ 12 billion had decreased to $ 661 million by September 2013.
