Dirección General de Fabricaciones Militares (DGFM, German General Directorate for Military Manufacturing ) is a state-owned company in Argentina that is active in the armaments, chemicals and mechanical engineering sectors. As early as 1923, the Argentine state established a number of factories for the manufacture of armaments, as private industry in this sector was either not available or not efficient enough to meet the needs of the local armed forces. In 1941, efforts to build up the national armaments industry were bundled in the DGFM, which has its headquarters in Buenos Aires. At that time, 14 production companies with around 18,000 employees were affiliated with the DGFM. In the 1980s, affiliated production sites were partially privatized. To this day, the DGFM is subordinate to the Argentine Ministry of Defense .

The armaments produced by the DGFM include handguns, ammunition, explosives and ballistic protective vests, but ammunition and weapon destruction is also offered as a service. The company's chemical manufacturing division counts sulfuric acid, nitrating acid and ammonium nitrate and thus mainly basic chemicals for the manufacture of explosives among its products. Another mainstay is the manufacture and repair of freight cars and individual bogies . The state railway companies and local public transport in the capital Buenos Aires are among DGFM's customers in this area. The manufacture of ventilation pipes for underground mining is also part of the field of activity in the mechanical engineering sector.
